Geotextile Membrane / Protection Fabric
Permeable geotextile separation and protection fabric
Provides separation, filtration or protection within designed retaining-wall and drainage assemblies. Geotextile fabric is not itself a waterproof barrier.
THE MATERIAL
What it does
Geotextiles are permeable woven or non-woven fabrics chosen for functions such as soil separation, filtration and cushioning. Suitable grades can be used alongside waterproofing membranes, but do not replace the membrane or a designed drainage layer.
Technical considerations
Select the fabric using the soil, filtration, permeability and mechanical requirements. Where membrane protection is needed, confirm cushioning and puncture-resistance requirements; fabric alone may not provide sufficient protection against backfill or construction loads.
Product selection depends on the surface and site conditions. Ask our team for specifications and availability.
WHERE IT’S USED
Common uses
- Retaining wall membrane protection
- Soil separation
- Drainage systems
LET’S NARROW IT DOWN
What to tell us
- 1Is the fabric for filtration, separation or membrane protection?
- 2What soil, drainage and loading conditions apply?
- 3What fabric grade and assembly detail are specified?
